When I was in high school I wanted to be a dentist. During freshman year Biology class at UW – La Crosse I realized I hated science and there was no way I was going to be a dentist. Sophomore year I realized that what I REALLY wanted to be was a Communication Studies professor. So I went to graduate school and became a Teaching Assistant. Within the first semester I realized I hated teaching and there was no way I was going to be a professor.
After graduation, as a Master and with the help of my dear friend Amanda, I scored a job as a coffee barista at Starbucks Coffee Company. I didn’t know it at the time but this was one of the best years of my life. I worked with an amazing group of women and a few awesome men (both of which were named Eddie). I realized that life was pretty damn good waking up at 3:30 am so I could catch the bus at 4:45 for my 5:30 shift that ended at 10. During my time at Starbucks I started this blog. I lived alone in a 225 square foot teeny tiny apartment in St. Paul with my very own teeny tiny kitchen, claw foot tub, crown molding and hard wood floors. I was deliriously happy. Who wouldn’t start a blog?
Eventually, I moved on from Starbucks and for the next three years I didn’t really blog about work anymore. I didn’t want to get fired!
I started a wedding and portrait photography business in 2009 and it feels wonderful to do something that I love! My website is Ingman Photography (dot) com. If you are interested in hiring me for a wedding or a portrait I would love to hear from you!
