lucky in love

Tuesday June 28, 2011

Ummm, I sorta want to be a bride again…just to wear that dress and veil.

Today is our 3rd Anniversary and I think it is safe to say – I’m still lucky in love!

omg, we’ve got grass

Monday June 27, 2011

On our walk around the neighborhood yesterday we came across a couple removing their, “It’s not that great, it’s full of crab grass.” — front lawn.

OMG, jackpot!!!

We asked if we could have it and they were like, “HELL YES! Take it.”

To us, this, “It’s not that great,it’s full of crab grass” was beautiful, hearty, established, and perfect for our backyard.

Being the very spontaneous project that it was, a few things to take a note of:

1) Unfortunately, there was no time to call brother-in-law Peter and redeem some hard labor hours he owes Jake (from the re-roofing extravaganza of last weekend). No worries Peter, we’ll try to plan better, next time we re-sod our backyard :)

2) There is no before photo of our lawn — just try to image…DIRT.

3) Also, there is no twitter, facebook, or instagram documentation of any part of this project — it’s like it never happened.

4) This is the lone iPhone photo I snapped when everything was almost done.

This project was intense, exhausting, and sorta ridiculous.

But OMG, we’ve got grass!!!

can’t wait for a nap

Thursday June 23, 2011

It’s almost Friday.

I have a wedding this Saturday in Wisconsin, and I will be staying the night.

I’ll be back on Sunday for Eden Pizza and ice cream  (Jake take note and please be prepared!).

I’ve been working soooo hard this week and I can’t wait for a nap.

kicking ass

Monday June 20, 2011

Apparently all I need is my brother to re-roof his house for me to get all my work done.

Holy shit I had a productive weekend.

Jake was helping Peter all weekend and was out of the house.

Maybe that is why I am totally kicking ass right now?

Who knows, and it doesn’t even matter.

All I care about is that I have one wedding left to edit before my wedding this weekend — and I have all week to work on it.

So back to this weekend: I banged out a stellar blog post from an amazing wedding at the Walker Art Center, shot a portrait shoot at Mill City Farmers Market Saturday morning, finished editing it and have the blog post on deck, completely edited another wedding and also have the blog post on deck.

Can you have two things on deck?

I also made rhubarb dream, chocolate-chip cookies, spaghetti meat pie, and grilled ginger garlic chicken. The rhubarb dream is totally gone because it is AMAZING. Enjoyed just two (can hardly believe it!) chocolate chip cookies yesterday and now the rest of them are in the freezer. Jake is still eating the spaghetti meat pie. I want to eat it as well, but well, you know, I am feeling good and looking better, soooo ginger garlic chicken it is!

All I know is that I am totally kicking ass right now.

And loving every minute of it!

full blown summer

Thursday June 16, 2011

We’re in full blown summer work zone, over here at the Ingman household.
I think it is safe to say I am feeling a bit -o-v-e-r-w-h-e-l-m-e-d-.

So is Jake. His forehead wrinkles are getting deeper. You should see them!

But lots of exciting things are in the works and that makes all the craziness worth it.
Just trying to keep up and stay balanced!

A few months ago I would have reached for my favorite chocolate chip ice cream or made a batch of cookies and….ATE IT ALL.

For breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner — without batting an eye.
I was pretty accomplished in the sugar intake.

Let’s be honest, things are much better now.
