today, then cheat day

Friday May 6, 2011

Tomorrow is our binge/cheat day and I woke up with soooo much excitement!  We just have to get through today and we can indulge in all our cravings tomorrow!

Jake and I are still kickin’ it with our Slow Carb Diet/ 4-Hour Body way of eating. And it is working!

It is really important to bump up our calories one day a week so our bodies don’t go into need to save the fat for survival mode, plus I think I would go crazy if I didn’t have this to look forward to.

Our plan is to go all out, but of course, who knows what will happen. I like to write down everything I crave during the week so I am ready for my cheat day.

Tentative plan:

BreakfastGrand Cafe – brioche french toast suzette w/ orange caramel sauce, whipped cream, toasted pistachios

Lunch: Jimmy John’s w/ potato chips, apple, and a blackberry Izzy

Snack: Cupcake from Wuollet’s – lady baltimore w/ butter cream frosting

Snack: Egg rolls from Taste of Thailand

Dinner: Feta & Onion Eden Pizza

Snack: Backyard fire w/ s’mores!

Doesn’t it all sound amazing!?!?!?  Obviously, I am missing bread and will be indulging that craving to the fullest. Jake and I haven’t had a cheat day where we’ve been home — so, this is our first “real” cheat day with all our favorites.

**What is so weird and crazy about our cheat day plan is that it might sound like a lot to some of you — but in reality it sorta sounds like any other normal day we would have had before we started this slow carb diet/4-hour body way of eating.  Holy crap, we were eating like crap. CRAZY.**

Here is our menu for today (everything is organic and purchased at Mississippi Market Co-Op):

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/3 cup of black lentils, 1/2 avocado, 1 small tomato

Lunch: Better-Than-Pasta Substitute: Summer Squash Noodles (pg 34), 1 hard boiled egg, 1/4 cup black lentils, 1/2 avocado

Dinner: Grilled herb chicken, broccoli, 1/2 cup lentils

Snacks: 5-10 Raw sprouted almonds, various raw veggies (carrots, peppers, snap peas), glass (or two) of red wine later tonight!

All of which is pretty darn delicious and healthy and makes us feel really good, BUT we still can’t wait for tomorrow!!!

Just a little re-cap:

My starting weight: 139.9
My weight at the end of 4th week: 133

Jake’s starting weight: 180
Jake’s weight at the end of 4th week: 175

Personally, I am feeling pretty good. I’ve lost almost 7 lbs and my jeans are feeling sooo much better. I still need to exercise more, but like I said before — I’m loving every minute of it.
