bare branches

Friday October 29, 2010

Driving through Mesa Verde National park this summer I was totally and completely obsessed with this landscape of dead trees. I was taking photos out my window and then turning around and driving through it again. I couldn’t keep my eyes off them.

I wanted to live with these dead trees. I wanted to sleep under the stars and walk through the bare trunks and branches.

Maybe to hear the whispers of the people from long ago and imagine what it would have been like.

happy birthday to me!

Monday October 25, 2010

I shot my last wedding of the season this Saturday on my 31st birthday. It was definitely a fitting way to end my 30th year — which was full of developing Ingman Photography. The day was beautiful and this October has been one to remember in Minnesota. Just gorgeous.

Jake had gone to a concert that night and was not going to be home when I got back from the wedding. This was okay with me because I definitely was too tired to celebrate.

But when I walked into the house it was aglow with warmth — balloons, hidden notes, a cake, cards, and a movie set up for me to watch. It was such a fun surprise and Judy and I lived it up!

We have been eating cake morning, noon, and night and I am so excited for my 31st year!

This video was set up for me to watch and I almost cried laughing so hard, it is just the sweetest!

I am currently going crazy with all the photos I am editing and wrapping up for clients.

This photo gives me a little peace — Judy has that effect on me.
